Chapter 43, "The Reality of Being" by Jeanne de Salzmann

Updated: Jun 23, 2024

The aim is to understand how far we are from our highest possibilities by recognizing different states of being. Our state of being changes frequently, moving from quiet to active moments, and from one minute to the next. To measure these changes, we need a constant, higher part of ourselves that never changes as a reference.

Living authentically is our goal, but we face resistance that leads us to lie and deny our true wishes. Often, we lack true self-awareness, and saying "I" may not connect to something real. Letting go of these lies allows us to find the truth.

The struggle for truth involves freeing ourselves from lies and reconnecting with our true center, guided by a constant feeling of consciousness. Each effort to work on ourselves requires reconnecting with this feeling, measured by our voluntary attention.

Returning to ourselves means freeing from distractions like words, images, and emotions to sense higher energy. Achieving balance helps us feel this higher energy, but knowing ourselves fully involves connecting with both higher and lower forces.

The work involves reclaiming lost attention, staying aware of reality, and balancing between higher and lower forces to remain present.
